Just adopted 4 ex battery hens who arrived in the most appalling state. After two months they ahve almsot regained all their feathers and are happy little creatures who are a lovely addition to our family, whilst fresh eggs eggs every day are a real bonus. It is beyond me how anyone with a conscience can mistreat these creatures in the horrific and inhumane way that chickens are treated even in ‘enriched’ cages.
